Beyond the Classroom
Character, values and well-being — the quieter formation that shapes the whole child.
Forming character, day by day
At Carmel, prime importance is given to building sound character. Through daily assembly and prayer, moral science, and the quiet example of teachers, students grow in personal and social qualities — learning to be kind, courteous, responsible and self-disciplined. We aim for an orderly, caring community where each student feels a privileged and valued member of the school family.
Wellness & Healthy Eating
Good habits begin at the lunch box. We encourage wholesome, home-prepared food in limited quantity, and discourage junk food and snacks. The school shares a weekly food guide to help families plan balanced, nourishing meals.
| Day | Snack | Lunch |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Vegetables & salad | Sambar / curd rice, curries with rice |
| Tuesday | Dry fruits & nuts | Variety rice — lemon, methi, fried, mango |
| Wednesday | Fresh fruits & fruit salad | Tiffin variety — idli, idiyappam, sandwich |
| Thursday | Sprouted grains & corn | Variety rice — tomato, coconut, carrot |
| Friday | Biscuits, cakes, murukku, banana | Tiffin — dosa, poori, paratha, pongal |
A suggested guide. Non-vegetarian food is not recommended (except egg); juices are suggested in the summer months.
“Children, you are God's gift in the hands of your parents… Food is for the body, so is wisdom for the intellect.”
